A Few Helpful Tips

 DO NOT SIGN the document without a Notary present the document will be invalid. Ask questions if you are unclear about any part of what is required for the notarization process, including fees.

 Ensure the Notary Credentials are valid by verifying the notary's commission and license number.  

Do not forget to bring a valid federal or state government photo identification that is current and readily accessible to verify your identity. You can use i.e., Driver's License, Non-Driver Photo ID Passport, Military ID, or Digital ID.

Review each document thoroughly and carefully before signing. Verify all documents are fully completed with no blank spaces before meeting the notary. Do not hesitate to ask questions from the provider of the document(s) before getting it notarized.

If you document(s) need to have Witnesses' signature, ensure you have them present during signing. The witnesses must be at least 18 years of age and show proper identification. Witnesses must be completely impartial third party and have no form of interest in the document(s).

When applying for a marriage license Both Spouses Must Be Present.  If a minor, there are additional requirements. A valid federal or state government photo identification with the correct legal name, date of birth and signature need presented when applying for the license.  

A notary services can be denied if the individual is not capable of responding intelligibly or has been declared mentally incapacitated by courts. The signor is incapable of comprehending what is being signed, they shouldn't be signing it, and the notary can refuse service for protection of the client.
